1jz-gte vvt-i info

Through the mid-to-late ‘90s, the JZ-series engine was treated to variable inlet cam timing (which Toyota calls VVT-i).

From 1996, the entry-level 2.5-litre 1JZ-GE received VVT-i as well as a compression ratio increase of 0.5:1. These changes helped achieve a very creditable 147kW and 255Nm (up 15kW and 20Nm from earlier models). These VVT-i 1JZ-GEs come fitted to the 1996 Chaser, Cresta, Crown and Mark II; they’re all autos.

Interestingly, the turbocharged 1JZ came in for a lot more than just VVT-i and a small compression ratio increase.

Click for larger image

For the 1996 model year, the 1JZ-GTE lost its parallel twin-turbo system in favour of a large capacity single turbocharger. With a big CT20 turbocharger blowing through an air-to-air intercooler, the VVT-i 1JZ-GTE produces 206kW (as before) but with a massively improved 378Nm at 2400 rpm. It’s easy to dismiss the switch from twin turbos to a single turbo as a downgrade but back-to-back road tests show this to be a far better engine than previously.

The 1JZ VVT-i single turbo came fitted to the updated Soarer, Chaser, Cresta and Mark II of ’96. The same engine was then applied to the 1999 Crown and Crown Estate, 2001 Verossa and 2002 Mark II Wagon Blit. Most examples are fitted with an automatic transmission but there are manual versions to be found. These engines are quite scarce at the import wreckers but they’re an excellent package.

HDi - Hybrid Development International

Hi guys.
I just would like to put some info about HDi which the brand that i use for my intercooler.
Actually the brand HDi in very famous among australian since it is australian made.
Why i choose HDi GT Spec at the first place?
  • This intercooler can hold max 750hp which is good for my setup. I would like to go beyond or on 600hp category
  • This intercooler is different from tube design. It is bar and plate design but less drop pressure. Tested and dynoed.
  • The intercooler design is very good quality
  • It is less weight than any other intercooler that have same size. This intercooler weight about 7 kg
  • HDi use New leading Traverse Aero Dynamic Heat Transfer Element (TADHTE) technology! . What is TADHTE? Traverse Aero Dynamic Heat Transfer Element reduce Air restriction to the radiator during drift, drag and circuit racing situation.
  • It have been proven that it will reduce turbo lag.
  • The design is very good, if you look at the intercooler it self. It have a frame that protect the fin from damage while other normal intercooles does not have it.
Here are some of HDi GT Spec intercooler pictures:

I am selling this intercooler at RM1200nett
Any inquiry about this intercooler please do not hesitate to contact me.

Meter is Malfunction

Hi all, sorry for havent update for a long time.
It took me a hell of time to make the meter functioning.
The meter cannot function since the new generation engine using different method compare to the old engine.

New generation Engine:
Meter <> Computer Box <> Engine

Old generation Engine:
Meter <> Engine

So, i have tried everything but still cannot work. I already put together the old computer box. but still malfunction.

At last, i've decided not to use the meter . just put apexi rsm meter.

It is very dissopointed. but "what to do" .. at least i tried my best to do it.

Now it is the time to make FMIC. Will post picture later.

Engine Is IN

The engine is already in.

I changed the engine mounting becouse my previous mounting is not good anymore and the mounting from the halfcut also is not very good.

So, if I used either or i will need to change it in the future.

The mouting is same with altezza engine. No modification needed.

But i need to do some custom works to fit in the clutch paddle.
